A Purr-sonal Story of Love

“A meow massages the heart. “
         - Stuart McMillan

She was scared.  She was alone.  Mostly, she was hungry.  Little Fiona had survived for a year in a filthy alley because the owner of a nearby print shop occasionally put out food for her – occasionally!

One evening, Sally, a customer, noticed Fiona as she was leaving the shop.  Realizing the danger the little black cat was in from the cars that raced through this alley, Sally contacted Stray Cat Alliance.  We loaned her a trap and taught her how to help this kitty – and not a moment too soon – Fiona turned out to be pregnant, and shortly after Sally rescued her, along came two beautiful kittens!

Soon, Fiona was spayed, inoculated and happily enjoying life in her permanent home with Sally, where she and her kittens had become affectionate lap cats.

After a very happy life, Fiona recently succumbed to illness, prompting Sally to contact us with a renewed gratitude that with our help, she was able to give this once homeless cat a comfortable life.

There are many similar stories about lives saved thanks to our organization, and really, thanks to people like you who have helped support us over the years.  Many cats  have been helped thanks to your generosity, and we are immensely aware and appreciative of your support.

Frequently, obituaries end with the statement: “In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to…” There is no greater way to commemorate the life of a departed loved one than to help others.

As the weather gets warmer, homeless cats will multiply – and so will their suffering without our help, so we hope you will consider making a generous donation to SCA in honor of a dear pet or person you have loved. The name of the loved one honored with your donation of $100 or more will be posted on our website.

Every dollar helps.  As a local, grassroots organization, we account for every donation we receive in a personal, responsible, loving way.

In deepest respect for those we have loved, thank you.
