Urgent help needed for hoarding
situation in San Fernando Valley

Today, after receiving a call to help a San Fernando Valley woman feed her cats because she is ill, a Stray Cat Alliance volunteer arrived to find 41+ cats in life-threatening circumstances – filth, debris, feces and urine-soaked floors.

When the volunteer got there, it was evident that the cats had NOT had food or water for several days and they were thirsty beyond belief and starving. In fact, one cat was found dead. Sadly, another died while receiving medical care, and several others needed immediate hospitalization.

As it is impossible to sufficiently clean the home to make it a viable place for the cats to recover, SCA volunteers will be moving the remaining cats to a temporary location tomorrow.

But that's just tomorrow. After that?

At present, SCA has over 100 cats up for adoption, so 41+ additional cats in need of homes places an undue burden on our already tapped-out organization.

These pictures DO NOT show the true horror of the situation ~ the stench was unbearable.
